Dawn’s Bird Song Chorus

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

A few weeks ago the digital radio station Oneword hit the headlines when its recording of bird songs became very popular with listeners. We though we must try that too but it turned out that we didn’t have the strength of will to get up before dawn and set up a recorder.

As it happens, I woke up early this morning just in time to grab some chorus. Listening to it perturbs the office cat as she seems to think that either a meal has arrived or there are giant birds in the room. So here it is, turn up the volume and enjoy!

Patti Plinko and her Boy performed a stunning hour of music at the Forest Cafe in Edinburgh on Friday. I couldn’t resist going along to video them and below is an excerpt from the show. The musical duo will be performing at the Brighton and Edinburgh Fringes this year. They are exceptionally talented and I expect them to hit the top…

RAF Rescue Blows the Afternoon!

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

I was working hard preparing for the Brighton Fringe when one of those big yellow rescue helicopters flew past the window on its way to pick up a fallen hill walker on the nearby Traprain Law, a popular hill climb. What else could I do but grab the camera and chase after it? The rest of the afternoon is history! Enjoy the brief video…

Jesus: The Guantánamo Years

I happen to be a regular reader of Time magazine. It’s an acutely topical magazine that gives you everything you want to know about what’s going on out there. Most importantly it’s a manageable read within 7 days before the next load of topical issues hit the stands.

It’s that picture again! Visually stunning and highly topical. In the Arts section “Comedy Terrors” in this week’s magazine, 7th April, the comedian, Abie Philbin Bowman is interviewed. I looked back through our archives and found his 2006 Virtual Flyer and his 2007 Virtual Flyer.

Once you have made the pages of Time magazine, you have made it! Many congratulations indeed!
