The world's end is nigh, brought about by mankind's behaviour, and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse find themselves redundant. The play imagines them meeting on a park bench to share an apocalyptic picnic before the end. War has changed her name to Wendy and become a chiropodist's receptionist; Death is trying his luck as a children's party clown. But their meeting is interrupted by news of a real life apocalypse.
