Pluck, the international award-winning musical comedy trio, will appear at The Old Market Theatre on 14th and 15th May, as part of the 2010 Brighton Fringe Festival.
“Gloriously funny” Scotsman
“Classical music for all ages and shoe sizes” Sunday Times
“A brilliant mix of high comedy, astonishing musicianship and a touch of romance”The List
Following the success of The Specialists, Pluck teamed up with renowned comedy director Cal McCrystal (Cirque du Soleil, Spymonkey, Peepolykus) for a second time. THE TITANIC SHOW is Pluck's tribute to the musicians who played on until the end. Nobody knows what filled the days of those brave few before tragedy struck...
So Pluck have made it up!
Sensitive lead violinist Wally and brutally sincere multi-instrumentalist W'Theodore are joined aboard the fated vessel by stowaway Roger, a strangely small yet enthusiastic young man. Privileged to be given second class passenger status, the three musicians take full advantage of the treats aboard this floating city. They gamble, paint, relax on deck chairs, and when off duty nibble a potato and dance the night away in steerage. But whilst they entertain the guests on board, tensions build as Wally and W'Theodore begin to suspect that Roger is not quite the man he claims to be… Featuring a real iceberg, one massive porthole and the biggest peanut on the Fringe, THE TITANIC SHOW is a masterpiece of musical mayhem – with NO Celine Dion!!
“..I don't know who would not enjoy this old-fashioned comedy with its brilliant
musical silliness… really, really wonderful” Three Weeks
Forming in 2002, Pluck has crescendoed its way to fame since the group’s acclaimed debut at the Edinburgh Festival in 2003. Since then, Pluck has become a truly worldwide phenomenon, selling out theatres in Europe, Australia, America and the Far East. They have performed at five Edinburgh Fringe Festivals (2002-2005, 2008), stunned an audience of 8000 in a football stadium, played the Glastonbury Festival in white tie, tails, and Wellington boots, appeared on CBBC’s ‘The Slammer’ and Channel 4’s ‘Big Brother’s Little Brother’, and interviewed the President of Slovenia in a boxing ring! Having previously played the Speigeltent and Gardner Arts Centre, they are delighted to be returning to Brighton with their newest and biggest show yet. They have recently had a change of lineup, introducing two new players to the trio, and are available for interviews and promotional performances.
