VaVoom! The Story of a Showgirl
A hilarious musical comedy following the story of LiLotta VaVoom, an aspiring showgirl in New Orleans, Louisiana.
“With ‘VaVoom,’ Sarah Blakemore gives the always-satisfying ‘behind the velvet curtain’ story of a show girl going after her dream a brilliant new twist. The script sparkles with smartly-drawn characters, crisp dialog, and musical numbers laced with a touch of modern irony -- but with lyrics that never lose touch with the timeless appeal of the best of the good old stuff.”
-Screenwriter and award-winning science fiction novelist Tony Daniel

Set in the 1940s on the backdrop of the Second World War, the tale tells of LiLotta's quest for stardom and also explores political and feminist themes from then and now.
Infectiously upbeat, with an all original score, the show is a whirlwind of sequined costumes, smarmy magicians, vengeful chorus girls and plotting stagehands, sure to make any audience want to sing along.
Vavoom! premieres at the Brighton Fringe Festival on Wednesday May 12th, 2010 and is set to finally make a star of LiLotta VaVoom this spring!
An RQE Productions show.
