SON.OF.ROBOT
WHAM! Son of Robot: A Brighton based quintet delivering a splicing of 'tongue in cheek' dance rock. Ninja kicking frowns upside down and combating cynicism with fuzzy warm synthesizer hugs, rocking riffs and infectious hooks, SOR have become one of Brighton’s hottest bands. Since their breakthrough show in 2008, the bands self produced records and videos have infected Brighton and the wider online community, with their video’s featuring on Channel Frederator (Nickelodeons Fairly Odd Parents) and e-magazine Epic Fu.
SOR and their members have shared bills with The Magic Numbers, Reuben, Sikth, British Sea Power, Ghost of a Thousand, Floors and Walls, Mean Poppa Lean, Doll and the Kicks, Amsterdam’s ZZZ and New Zealand’s Bang Bang Eche. The band have also composed soundtracks for internet viral animation “She Farted and Created the World” (Virgin Media Shorts 2009 runner up), and the independent short film “The Shirt” (BBC Wales).
