The show is a loyal depiction of Latin-American music and human reality. Gerardo Pablo makes this amazing approach through breathtaking and poetic lyrics with a surprising, rather, thrilling mixture of rythms. The attendee also has the opportunity to enjoy a related video of some singles whilst in the show. Translated versions of the songs will be included.

Gerardo Pablo

The next extract is from one of the most respected magazines in Mexico:

“…[Gerardo Pablo is] the consolidation of a style, a project, a personal leadership of the independent song…”, Roberto Ponce, Proceso 1694, April week 2, 2009.

Throughout his 14-year career, Gerardo Pablo continues to capture that which is full of beauty and ethical integrity. During this time he has performed across Mexico in some of the greatest theatres such as Teatro Principal in Puebla City and the Centro Cultural de Tijuana in Tijuana; he has also played extensively outside Mexico in countries such as the U.S.A, Canada, Argentina, Hungary and the United Kingdom. This experience has served as evidence that when music is good, sensitive and surprising there is no such thing as a language barrier. In Brighton we presented Gerardo’s work at “La Cantina” (former Mexican restaurant) and at Prince Albert. The seven productions confirm that Gerardo Pablo challenges the old “trova” style with more contemporary eclecticism. The records include bluegrass, cha-cha-cha or ballads with a variety of instruments that gives each song a unique experience for the listeners. His voice is a pleasant mixture of warmth and force for those who live for beauty and justice. We can say without doubt that the troubadour tradition is renewed in him. This effort has granted him recognitions such as “Distinguished Citizen of Puebla City” in 2006, and finalist in the last “Abril para Vivir” festival held in Granada, Spain.
