EXPERIENCE THE ELECTION AS ... PERFORMANCE
Fluxx has been presenting extraordinary shows using improvisation since 1998. Following sell-out performances in Coventry and London, this unique show, devised and directed by Chris Johnston, comes to the Brighton Fringe Festival.
On election night, fifteen fictional characters respond to the election as the nation votes and exit polls are released. On the night after, the same fifteen react to the results.
The show takes interactive performance into a new dimension. Many shows claim to be unique – this one really is.
If a spectator sits at a table, a character comes to it and engages with that spectator. Each table is a different location; the House of Commons, the deck of a ship, a priest’s front room, a war zone, a café. The spectator learns that he or she is someone in that character’s life. As the election takes place, a dilemma or story emerges for that character. The spectator can choose: either to be passive and observe, or to engage and influence.
