Magdalena Reising

About me is an intimate little theatre with the feeling of a chic garden terrace brought in-doors; before me, a vision in red taffeta and an Irish harp occupy centre stage. The dress reminds me of a giant rose in bloom, which is fitting for this mellifluous medley of love songs. The two sets take a diverse international tour: from Europe with Édith Piaf's 'La Vie en Rose' and Marlene Dietrich's 'Blue Angel', over to Canada for a soothing rendition of Leonard Cohen's 'Dance Me To The End Of Love', and not forgetting Scotland and Ireland for a number of Gaelic and Celtic planxties... The whole experience is rounded off nicely with a vivacious Latin encore - brava!
Iambic Theatre 4, 6 May, 8:00pm, £10.00 (£8.00), fpp44.
