An innovative, funny and inspiring family show about dyslexia returns to the Three and Ten for the
Brighton Fringe Festival 2010.
The Jumble Book tells the story of a dyslexic boy called Jumble and his dream of writing a book. The show, suitable for adults and children aged six plus, features a lively fusion of performance poetry, rap, music, theatre, illustration, fuzzy-felt, plenty of audience participation and some hilarious dance. Despite requiring the audience to sit a short exam, the show has already proved very popular with audiences at a recent tour of Essex and returns to the award winning venue Three and Ten at 1pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 21st- 23rd of May.
Said Justin “I’m delighted to be asked back to perform The Jumble Book at my favourite venue in Brighton. This is a fun show about a serious issue for everybody. You don’t have to be dyslexic to enjoy it and adults seem to warm to it as much as children”
The show is penned by Don’t Feed The Poets host Justin Coe and also features an original musical score from composer Pete Coates and illustrations from Walker Books author/artist Ed Boxall.
Meanwhile, Justin will be making a free appearance at The Book Nook at 11am on Saturday 15th May alongside legendary children’s poet Roger Stevens to promote both the show and The Jumble Book poetry anthology (with contributions from Roger, Justin, Roger McGough and John Hegley amongst others) which is raising money for Dyslexia Action.
Tickets for The Jumble Book show are available at £6/£5 (£5 on Friday) and further details can be acquired from the three and ten website, www.otherplaceproductions.co.uk .
