東京フリンジ フェスティバル

The 2nd Tokyo Fringe Festival is taking place in the beautiful spring season. Dates are March 28, 29 and 30 and April 4,5 and 6. (Friday - Sunday)
The Tokyo Fringe Festival was started by Indo-Japanese dancer, Shakti and Australian actor, Dwayne Lawler of the Rising Sun Theatre. It is at the intimate Shakti Studio in Horikiri Shobuen in Katsushika-ku which is in the fringe of Tokyo right accross the Arakawa River.
It will be nicely timed to be right after the Adelaide Fringe Festival which is on every year from the end of February to mid March, thus artists from Europe can have a stopover in Japan on the way home. (Did you know that Japan Airlines offers a stopover in Tokyo when you fly to Australia from Europe?)
Come and enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms and make an attempt to communicate to the non-english speaking audience. A challenge? Most certainly. But isn't that what the Fringe is all about?
The First Tokyo Fringe Festival took place in October 2007 and it was a great success. We are probably the smallest Fringe Festival in the world yet but was totally international. We had 7 companies representing 6 different countries! Between shows the audience was able to enjoy a glass of wine or two on our rooftop bar. A wonderful place to chill out and have fun.
"Communicate and Collaborate" is our theme. Calling for artists of all kinds!
